After the team's 115-102 win, it was confirmed by the team that Wembanyama has suffered a rib contusion. The unfortunate injury became a topic of concern among fans.
The playoffs are near, and the Spurs need their best player in the best condition. It's the first time the Spurs will be in the postseason since 2019, which has ignited excitement among fans.

It's an important stretch of games for the Spurs, as it leads to the start of the first round of the postseason, with three games left in the regular season.
Initially, the Spurs listed Wembanyama as doubtful against the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday due to the rib injury. ESPN's Shams Charania also reported that the Spurs are hopeful to have the big man back in the lineup and play at least one more game.
Marc Stein of "The Stein Line" reported on Tuesday that the French basketball star needs to play one more 20-minute game to be eligible to win NBA postseason awards. Wembanyama is a top candidate to win the Most Valuable Player award and is the favorite to win the Defensive Player of the Year. The Spurs star also needs to play one more game to be eligible to be named in any of the All-NBA teams.
Sports doctor Jesse Morse weighed in on the NBA star's injury. According to the medical expert, there are five possible diagnoses for Wembanyama's injury, ranging from best to worst-case scenarios. The best scenario for the two-time All-Star would be a rib contusion/bruise. The worst, however, is a rib fracture + organ injury.

Suffered a rib contusion on the left side on this play.
Rib injuries are painful!
There’s basically 5 options:
1. Rib contusion/bruise
2. Rib cartilage injury
3. Rib fracture
4. Rib fracture + rib cartilage injury
5. Rib fracture + organ injury (lung)… https://t.co/r7LvV5wEsG pic.twitter.com/8xUMbjTChK
In his post, Dr. Morse added that Wembanyama might miss all three games.
With the positive news from Haynes, there's a chance that fans will see Wembanyama back in action before the end of the season. It's also important for him to meet the 65-game requirement to reward himself for his impressive outing this year.
