One day after Draymond Green punched Jordan Poole during an altercation, Steph Curry stood up for the Warriors’ fourth-year shooting guard.

Curry explained that “JP’s been great. There was nothing that warranted the situation yesterday, to make that clear.”
After news of the altercation broke, Yahoo’s Chris Haynes reported that the run-up to the incident was that Poole, on the brink of a potentially lucrative contract extension, had begun behaving differently.
Draymond Green was apologetic in aftermath of the altercation with Jordan Poole, but there was a buildup stemming from teammates noticing a change in Poole’s behavior throughout camp with the guard on the verge of securing a lucrative extension, league sources tell @YahooSports.

The Warriors were quick to deny there was anything wrong with Poole’s attitude, across the board. GM Bob Myers told reporters the altercation was a “normal argument in practice.” Coach Steve Kerr said at his presser that “Jordan has been fantastic throughout camp.” And veteran Andre Iguodala forcefully defended Poole on Twitter.
What we not gone do is talk crazy about my young fella JP… great character kid… miss me with all that other bs… straight from the “SOURCE”

There you have it. An upcoming windfall won’t change Jordan Poole. And the Warriors hope getting punched by a teammate won’t either.
