The Golden State Warriors picked up a huge Game 1 road win over the Houston Rockets on Sunday to kick off their 2025 playoffs, backed up their star duo of Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler.
Steph Curry led the Warriors with 31 points on 12-19 shooting from the field and 5-9 from three-point range, while Jimmy Butler chipped in 25 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 5 steals on 10-19 shooting. The Warriors have been incredible since acquiring Butler to pair with Curry, and the new star duo should certainly see some success in the postseason.
After Sunday's win, NBA legend Charles Barkley asked Curry if it was nice having Butler to make life easier for him, but threw a slight jab at Butler in the process.
"Obviously, he's a heck of a player," Barkley said. "He's giving you the ability to rest more. He's not as great as you, but he's a really nice second closer to have on the team, correct?"

Of course, Curry took exception to Barkley's comment about Butler.
"Jimmy's nice. Don't get that twisted," Curry said. "He's carried teams to the Finals. The idea of what he brings to us is another guy who is just comfortable with the ball in his hands to create for himself and others, no matter what the situation is.
"You saw plenty of times, he kind of made something out of nothing. He is a legitimate ballhandler, where we can give it to him in space, on the post, at the elbow, wherever, and teams have to respect him. So if I can space and give him room and keep the defense honest, that helps. And we've had a really good chemistry since he's been here."
Butler, a six-time NBA All-Star, has made life incredibly easier for Curry, and the results have shown. The Warriors are 22-5 with Butler and Curry both on the court, and Curry is playing some of his best basketball in a while.
Curry and Butler have been incredible together, and their chemistry is already better than many would have imagined. The aging stars are certainly running out of time to compete at this high of a level, so making the most of this year's playoff run is certainly the priority for them.
