If you're one of the many, many people who own a No. 30 Steph Curry jersey, you can rest easy: He won't be making a late-career number change.
The Golden State Warriors recently struck a one-year deal with the future Hall-of-Famer's brother, Seth Curry, potentially giving the duo a chance to share the floor at the NBA level. After bouncing around teams throughout his career, Seth spent the end of the 2023-24 season with the Charlotte Hornets and the entire 2024-25 season with the team.
After joining the Warriors, the younger Curry brother spoke with the media and joked that he tried to buy the No. 30, as ESPN's Anthony Slater revealed.
Not surprisingly, that didn't pan out, which, as Seth explained, is probably for the best considering the NBA wouldn't have been thrilled.
Seth Curry joked he tried to get #30 from Steph Curry: “I tried to buy it from him. He said he didn’t need the money. Don’t think the NBA would like it either.”

It's fair to say that if Seth did make his pitch to Steph for the No. 30, a response stating he doesn't "need the money" is more than fair. After all, Steph Curry is set to make $59.6M this year and over $62.5M during the 2026-27 season.
According to Spotrac, the two-time NBA Most Valuable Player has earned more than $410.5M in his NBA career thus far.
