Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors got back to winning ways on Wednesday night. They defeated the Utah Jazz, 140-124, making amends for their 108-83 blowout loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday.

Curry turned in another strong performance, registering 27 points on 7-of-14 shooting, one rebound, two assists and two steals in 28 minutes of action. The former back-to-back MVP also went 4-of-10 from beyond the arc to lead Golden State to its second win in three games.

Curry made history in Wednesday’s win as well. The 12-time All-Star climbed the NBA’s all-time scoring leaderboard, passing Hall of Famer Paul Pierce for No. 19 on the esteemed list.

Curry received some news outside of basketball before Wednesday’s game. His co-directed and produced short film, “The Baddest Speech Writer of All,” won the grand jury prize at the Sundance Film Festival on Tuesday night.

Curry made his directorial debut in the short film about Clarence B. Jones, the lawyer and speechwriter of Martin Luther King. The Warriors superstar co-directed the film with two-time Academy Award-winner Ben Proudfoot.

Curry took to social media to share his reaction to the news.

“My people @bgproudfoot @erickjpeyton @unanimousworld be proud of the work we accomplished and let’s keep the momentum rolling. Dr. Clarence B. Jones @csbjsr needs to be heard!” Curry posted on Instagram.

This marks a milestone in Curry's career as a film producer and director. This is a path he may decide to pursue once he retires from basketball. Curry also has an upcoming animated film coming out in February entitled “GOAT.”

As for his basketball, Curry and the Warriors improved to 27-22 after beating Utah. They remain eighth in the Western Conference heading into Friday’s game against the Detroit Pistons, the No. 1 team in the East.
