Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry explained his mindset after Saturday’s 119-116 win over the Phoenix Suns.

Speaking to the media after the game, Curry described his calm late-game approach as “mental warfare,” especially in pressure moments. The veteran said smiling at the free-throw line helps him stay present.

“No, that's more mental warfare for me to just enjoy the moment," Curry said. "If anybody tells you at any stage of the crowd, care how many free throws you've made, when you need two of them, you do get nervous. So the smile is more to kinda embrace the moment and enjoy it instead of overthinking or worrying about mechanics or anything.

"So I've been doing that a lot lately, like the last couple of years, just playing mind games with myself and enjoying the moment."

Curry finished with 28 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, and a steal in 35 minutes. He shot 9-of-19 from the field and knocked down key free throws late. The performance came two nights after he struggled against Phoenix. In that loss, Curry scored only 15 points on poor shooting. But this time, his response showed control and focus.

Golden State snapped a three-game losing streak with the win. Jimmy Butler added 25 points and delivered a key late three-point play. Curry scored 14 points in the fourth quarter and sealed the game at the line. The Warriors survived a chippy contest that included the ejection of Draymond Green.

Phoenix was led by Devin Booker, who scored 38 points. Still, Golden State closed strong despite early defensive lapses.

The Warriors now sit at 14-15, still searching for consistency. For Curry, the mental edge remains as important as skill. His approach continues to define how he handles the game’s biggest moments.
