Stephen Curry coins nickname for his pairing with new teammate

Stephen Curry and Seth Curry will become only the 11th pair of siblings to play on the same NBA team when the Golden State Warriors kick off their 2025-26 season against the Los Angeles Lakers on Oct. 21.

The older Curry has already given the pair of brothers a nickname. Stephen shared a photo of the two brothers, captioning it "SC²." The image was likely photoshopped, as the Curry brothers have yet to share the court in the Warriors' first two preseason games.

Stephen Curry, Seth Curry share jerseys

While they've yet to play together, the Curry brothers have already given Dub Nation a sneak peek into their chemistry. During the team's open practice on Thursday, attended by thousands of fans at Chase Center, the Curry brothers wore each other's jerseys at shootaround.

The move was likely a response to Seth joking on Media Day that he offered money to his brother to secure No. 30, the same number that their father, Dell Curry, wore during his 16-year NBA career. It was later confirmed that Seth would don No. 31, while Steph would retain No. 30.

Other brothers to play together in NBA

The Curry brothers will join the following ten pairs of siblings as teammates in the NBA — Giannis and Thanasis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks), Brook and Robin Lopez (Milwaukee Bucks), Evan and Isaiah Mobley (Cleveland Cavaliers), Moritz and Franz Wagner (Orlando Magic), Marcus and Markieff Morris (Phoenix Suns), Justin and Aaron Holiday (Indiana Pacers), Justin and Jrue Holiday (Philadelphia 76ers), Zoran and Goran Dragic (Miami Heat), Caleb and Cody Martin (Charlotte Hornets) and Dominique and Gerald Wilkins (Orlando Magic).

Among the group, only the Antetokounmpo brothers and the Wagner brothers remain active teammates. While Thanasis has been a member of the Bucks since 2019, Moritz Wagner joined his younger brother, Franz, in Orlando in 2021 and has been there since.
