Stephen Curry gets huge Drake shoutout on Iceman
Aaron Josefczyk-USA TODAY Sports

Drake name drops two NBA stars on his much anticipated Iceman album released Thursday. LeBron James received a diss by the Toronto rapper and singer. Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry earns mention too.

But was Drake calling out Curry as well?

The artist born Aubrey Graham shouts out the four-time NBA Finals winner instead of dissing him. Drake, though, brings up Curry’s college alma mater on one leaked track from his new LP release.

“Back when they was asking bout where Davison was at, now everybody got a blue 30 on they back,” Drake rhymes in one of his songs.

Graham shouted out Curry before. He famously blurted out the phrase “Steph Curry with the shot boy.” Which came on his famed 2014 track 0 to 100/The Catch Up.

He also shared the line “Golden State running practice at my house” as part of his lyrics for Summer Sixteen, which came before the Warriors fell to a James-led Cleveland Cavaliers team.

Jalen Duren is another rumored NBA star mentioned on Iceman, which is part of a three album rollout by Drake. His hometown team the Toronto Raptors helped promote Iceman with two “iced out” seats during an April 12 game.

The famed sports fan hasn’t released an album since “For All the Dogs” in 2023. Drake is also aiming for new musical relevancy following his famed beef with Grammy winner and Super Bowl LIX halftime performer Kendrick Lamar. The Canadian also has feuded with Rick Ross, Future, Metro Boomin and The Weeknd in the music industry.
