Stephen Curry: I 'see a lot of myself' in Patrick Mahomes

Golden State Warriors superstar guard Stephen Curry knows a lot about both winning and losing on his sport's biggest stage. The 32-year-old is a three-time champion who was also part of teams that fell in the NBA Finals to the Cleveland Cavaliers and Toronto Raptors.

While Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes recently tasted the agony of defeat at a Super Bowl for the first time in his career, Curry explained on a recent edition of the "Huddle & Flow" podcast that there's no NFL player he enjoys watching more than the dynamic 25-year-old signal-caller.

"Mahomes, for sure," Curry said about his choice for favorite NFL personality, per Grant Gordon of the league's official website.

Curry continued:

"See a lot of myself in him, obviously there's been a lot of comparisons. Just that creativity, you can't blink or you'll miss something special. I just love his confidence, when he knows that at any point he can do something special."

Physically and athletically speaking, Mahomes may already be one of the most gifted quarterbacks in NFL history, and he often makes highlights even when things don't go his way.

"He's always got options," Curry added on Mahomes. "He's got a way to make a play, using his feet or his arm, sidearm pass or whatever it is. He's surrounded by some weapons and he knows how to use them. That guy, he's special. He's a generational talent, obviously. So, love watching him."

Mahomes has a Super Bowl victory, Super Bowl Most Valuable Player honor and a regular-season MVP on his resume before hitting his prime, so his accomplishments may surpass Curry's by the end of the decade, if not sooner.
