Stephen Curry Makes More Money In 2 Quarters Than The Highest-Paid WNBA Player Makes In A Year

So much so that the highest-paid player in the WNBA, Diana Taurasi, earns just around $228K per year. She is currently on a max contract. When we compare her earnings to Curry, the Warriors superstar earns more than that in just two quarters.

It is indeed shocking that the pay difference between the NBA and the WNBA is so wide. But at the same time, it's understandable.

Last season, the WNBA generated around $60 million in revenue. On the other hand, the NBA generated around $10 billion in revenue. If the WNBA can someday catch up to the NBA in terms of generating revenue, the pay gap will be reduced. But until then, it's really hard to see the WNBA players getting a huge bump in their salaries.
