Stephen Curry acknowledged a rival Western Conference point guard for having the most hops among all other NBA players.
Stephen Curry is one of the most influential players in NBA history. The four-time NBA champion has established himself as an all-time great in this league.
Jeff Teague claimed Stephen Curry was greater than Magic Johnson recently. It is a testament to the work Curry has done that there is a legitimate argument to be made for Curry.
Even former US President Barack Obama included Curry in his all-time starting five. The cache that Curry has among NBA fans and greats alike is beyond belief.
The Golden State Warriors guard is known for giving opposing defenders a hard time. Even Alex Caruso shudders at the prospect of guarding Curry.
But who is the player in the NBA that has caught Curry’s eye when it comes to athleticism? It appears it’s a player the man has faced in the playoffs.
Stephen Curry made an appearance on the Good Good YouTube channel recently. While discussing the most athletic players in the NBA, Curry didn’t hesitate in giving his answer.
Curry named Ja Morant as the most athletic player in the NBA. He also referenced Russell Westbrook in his prime and John Wall prior to his injuries as other contenders for the title.
“I think pound for pound, (Ja Morant) is the most athletic player in the league. Russell Westbrook when he was in his full prime.
“John Wall. We always talk about those guys as being the most athletic in the league.”
It’s a huge stamp of approval from Curry, who praised Morant for his ability to get off his feet and explode to the basket.
Despite being one of the most athletically gifted players in the NBA, Ja Morant has struggled to get going in the last few years.
After some non-basketball controversies derailed his career, Morant returned to playing regular basketball this past season.
However, Morant is a moth to the proverbial flame that is controversy. Morant continued his antics last season, getting into trouble a few times.
In fact, Morant even introduced a controversial new celebration that caused the NBA to look into his behavior.
Hopefully, next season, Morant can put his problems behind him and return to the exciting, high-level basketball player we know he can be.
