Stephen Curry passes two legends on all-time leaderboards

The Warriors (19-20) suffered arguably their worst loss of the season Monday night, falling 104-101 to the lowly Raptors (9-31). However, Stephen Curry had a special night as he passed two legends, Allen Iverson and Kobe Bryant, on two separate all-time leaderboards.

With 4:22 left in the fourth quarter, Curry surpassed Iverson on the NBA's all-time scoring list with a signature three-pointer. The sharpshooter would end the game with 26 points to increase his tally to 24,371 points, taking a three-point lead over Iverson's 24,368 points.

Curry — now 28th on the list — has a realistic chance of surpassing Ray Allen (24,505), Patrick Ewing (24,815) and Jerry West (25,192) later this season if he continues to score at his current pace of 22.7 points per game.

In the same quarter, Curry recorded his 6,307th assist to surpass Bryant's career tally of 6,306 dimes. He would finish the game with seven assists, raising his career total to 6,308, good for No. 35 on the list. He now trails Jrue Holiday (6,333) and Norm Nixon (6,386) on the all-time leaderboard.

The milestones were likely extra special for Curry due to his reverence for Iverson and Bryant. Curry once named Bryant on his all-time starting five and explained why he grew up idolizing Iverson due to their similar physical stature. That's why Curry was grateful for his achievements Monday night.

"It's pretty special [to pass Iverson]," Curry told reporters, via HoopsHype's Mike Bohn. "He changed the game in a lot of ways — on and off the court. He made the game fun to watch...I remember in the 2001 playoff series when A.I. went crazy against [the Raptors]. Vince [Carter] missed that turnaround in front of their bench when my dad [Dell Curry] was the inbounder. So, I remember watching a lot of his games. It's cool to be in a situation where you're among those type of names."
