Stephen Curry wins All-Star MVP with record-setting shooting display

The NBA All-Star Game is always an avalanche of offense, but no player has ever had the shooting success that Stephen Curry had in his MVP performance Sunday night.

The record for three-pointers by a player in the NBA All-Star game was nine and the most a player ever made in a quarter was four. Curry smashed those numbers with a dazzling display of his shooting skills.

Curry, 33, made two three-pointers in the first quarter before setting a record with six in the second quarter. That mark only lasted through halftime though, because Curry made another seven in the third quarter to bring his total in the game to a staggering 15. While he only made one of his five three-point tries in the fourth quarter, Curry still finished with 16 makes on the night.

"Steph Curry has taken over this game."

When Curry was introduced before the game, he was met with a chorus of boos from Cleveland fans who once witnessed the Warriors beat the Cavaliers in the NBA Finals three times in a four-year span. By the end, Curry was the game's MVP with 50 points, just two points behind the record for scoring in the NBA All-Star Game held by Anthony Davis.

Curry's performance helped lead Team LeBron to a 163-160 win against Team Durant.
