Steve Kerr was not happy with what he saw from the Golden State Warriors and their young core, with their lack of hunger frustrating him.

The Golden State Warriors find themselves struggling to find a consistent identity, earning a 5-5 record through their first 10 games after their latest loss to the Denver Nuggets.

The Warriors struggled defensively, as their team wasn’t able to stop the Nuggets. In particular, Jonas Valanciunas highlighted the Warriors’ defensive weaknesses.

After the game, Draymond Green lamented that he failed the Warriors as the defensive leader of the team, as he wasn’t able to have them ready for the season.

But Steve Kerr didn’t blame Green. Rather, he took aim at the Warriors’ young players for not having the right energy and approach to the season.

Steve Kerr says Warriors youngsters lacked hunger and fire to beat Nuggets

Steve Kerr spoke to reporters after the Golden State Warriors’ loss to the Denver Nuggets. In particular, Kerr was frustrated with the younger stars on his team.

Kerr admitted that young players must show a level of hunger, passion, and fight to bounce back from a tough stretch in the NBA. Getting complacent can be quite costly in the NBA, and that’s what they did.

“The game didn’t go their way tonight, but there has to be some fire in the belly to get out of a tough night. It’s tough as a young player when things aren’t going your way.

“It’s easy to get down. You can’t do that in this league. You have to compete every second, and it didn’t feel like we did that tonight.”

Golden State Warriors seem lost without Stephen Curry

The Warriors have missed Stephen Curry over the last two games, and the results have been clear – their offense has been quite weak without him.

During last night’s game, Jimmy Butler scored just 16 points, while Draymond Green scored 17 points. These two stars led the team in scoring.

The Warriors had to rely on Quentin Post and Will Richard to deliver 14 and 12 points off the bench, respectively, which just wasn’t enough for them to get the win.

The hope now must be that Stephen Curry can return to the team and give them the jolt they so desperately need on the offensive end.
