The Golden State Warriors adjusted their rotation once again on Friday as Stephen Curry returned for a 127-120 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
One thing didn't change from Sunday's loss, however, and that's Jonathan Kuminga again remaining on the bench despite being available, thus earning his second consecutive DNP-Coach's Decision.
Head coach Steve Kerr's decision to sit Kuminga for a second straight game coincided with the ever-growing rumors around the forward, the latest ones confirming his availability in the trade market ahead of the February 5 deadline.
Steve Kerr addressed his decision postgame.
“Just right now, it’s where things are,” Kerr said. “You saw Gui [Santos] come in there for, you know, six minutes, and he lit up the crowd with his energy and the ball movement. That was maybe the best stretch of the game for our offense.
“It’s just where it is right now, but it can change very quickly.”

On Tuesday, following Sunday's first DNP-CD earned by Kuminga in less than a week, ESPN's Shams Charania reported the following.
"The Warriors will discuss trades for forward Jonathan Kuminga when he is eligible to be moved Jan. 15, sources said, after discussions with the Phoenix Suns and Sacramento Kings in the summer failed to progress," Charania wrote. "Golden State wants to find upgrades on its roster, and Kuminga's $22.5 million salary could be used in bigger trade scenarios."
Golden State’s loss came on a night when Curry delivered 39 points in his first game back, shooting 14-of-28 and making six three-pointers while playing 32 minutes.
“He looked great, just the movement and flow,” Kerr said of Curry. He described the minutes plan as appropriate for short- and long-term purposes.
The Warriors, now 13-13, travel to face the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday.
