Steve Kerr Has Message For Draymond Green With Suspension Looming

Life without Stephen Curry is never easy for the Golden State Warriors.

That much was proven on Thursday night as the club took a 117-93 defeat to the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 2.

Curry was injured after logging just 13 minutes in Game 1 -- scoring 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting -- though the Warriors leaned on their defense and secured the road win.

Now the series is tied 1-1 after Golden State's recent loss, with the series now headed back to San Francisco.

Jimmy Butler scored just 17 points on 6-of-13 shooting, as the Warriors could have benefited from the star forward shooting with more volume.

There was no magic from the rest of the squad, either, and Draymond Green even got an early technical.

The veteran forward and elite defender needed to quarterback the team in Curry's absence, and, instead, he earned a technical and is now two technical fouls away from landing a suspension.

Should Golden State prolong their playoff run, that could have heavy implications. Green will have to keep his cool if said run is going to happen, though.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr understands that.

“He’s going to have to be careful…He’s going to have to stay composed and I’m confident he will because he knows the circumstances," Kerr explained after the game.

The four-time NBA champion is going to have to lean into his leadership and veteranship in Game 3, especially if Curry remains sidelined as he's expected to be.

Given Green's background, many expect him to play with emotion, though he's going to have to tone that down moving forward.
