The Golden State Warriors recently capped off a six-game road trip with a big win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

On Friday night, on the second night of a back-to-back, the Warriors then had to host a Denver Nuggets team they trail in the Western Conference standings.

Given the nature of the West, though, the game had massive implications as there can be quite a bit of seeding movement in the final handful of games of the season.

Golden State, coming off a long, exhausting road trip, managed a big victory over the Denver Nuggets, though it was essential for Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler to play in the contest.

The veterans, who lead the squad, are getting banged up late in the season.

“I’m exhausted. I just want to relax. Go home. Go to sleep," Green said after the win.

Curry led the way with 36 points on 13-of-24 shooting, putting up a third-straight remarkable performance as the Warriors won their fifth-straight matchup.

Butler added 19 points, three rebounds, five assists and five steals en route to the 118-104 win.

Steve Kerr reveals what Warriors' trio told him

Before the game, Golden State's trio was listed on the injury report as questionable. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr had a conversation with them regarding their health and whether they wanted to play in the game.

“They were all adamant. They were feeling good. Ready to go. Big game," Kerr revealed after the win.

It was a big win for the 46-31 Warriors, who are now just a half-game behind the Nuggets in the standings and one game behind the No. 3-seeded Lakers.

Golden State has some serious potential with the season winding down, and pushing up in the standings even further would continue to solidify their status as a contender this season.
