Few would have expected the Golden State Warriors’ 2025-26 season to take such a downturn. First, Jimmy Butler tore his ACL, and now Stephen Curry is out for an extended period. Despite these setbacks, head coach Steve Kerr remains optimistic in this challenging situation.

Curry’s sidelining stems from patellofemoral pain syndrome, known as Runner’s Knee, which he suffered during a close 131-124 loss to the Detroit Pistons. The 38-year-old has now missed 21 straight games, including a recent 126-110 defeat against the Atlanta Hawks.

This injury has hit the Warriors hard; they went from fighting to keep their playoff chances alive to struggling just to secure a place in the play-in tournament. Moreover, the Dubs have lost 10 of their last 12 games.

Despite these difficulties, Steve Kerr continues to focus on the team’s positive aspects. In a recent interview, Kerr discussed Brandin Podziemski’s development and the balance between his role as a secondary player. He also weighed in on Podziemski’s aspirations to be a primary on-ball player.

“It’s a great experience for Brandin. 20-games without Steph. I think where he is in his career he’s proven he can help drive winning. I think that’s been apparent. He does a lot of things that can help drive winning. He is, in my mind, really exploring how good he can become and what type of player he wants to become,” Kerr said.

Kerr believes Curry’s 20-game injury absence has provided good experience for Podziemski.

Latest Warriors Injury Report Reveals Big Updates for Stephen Curry And Moses Moody

With just 11 games left in the 2025-26 NBA regular season, Warriors fans are worried about the team’s chances of making the play-in tournament. However, recent injury updates have brought some good news about Stephen Curry and Moses Moody, boosting optimism about the team’s progress.

“The re-evaluation indicated that Curry continues to make good progress. He has intensified his individual on-court workouts and, as next steps, he will be incorporated into live action and team practices in the coming days.” Update on Curry (via Warriors).

“The re-evaluation indicated that Moody is making good progress. He has intensified his on-court work (shooting drills, etc.) and will be incorporated into live action in the coming days. He will be re-evaluated again on Tuesday.” Update on Moody (via Warriors).

Moody suffered a sprained right wrist against the Los Angeles Clippers on March 2 and has since missed the last nine games. Meanwhile, Curry is showing impressive progress in his knee recovery, but the exact return timeline remains uncertain.

The Warriors are currently in 10th place in the Western Conference standings, and further losses will hurt their chances of making the Play-In. Looking ahead, they will face the Dallas Mavericks at American Airlines Center.
