The vibes surrounding the Phoenix Suns organization are reaching new levels. The dread from last year’s disaster season seemingly was going to leave a stench around the franchise heading into the 2025-2026 season. However, the new additions of Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks have spoke at Summer League about being motivated to prove the Houston Rockets wrong for trading them, and according to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Devin Booker feels just as strong of proving doubters wrong.
Charania talked to PHNX Sports about next year’s roster and how scrappy the team will be, with Booker at the forefront. Booker has “fully immersed himself with this team,” and is ready to rebuild from the ground up.

Since Booker was drafted back in 2015, Phoenix has gone through multiple roster overhauls. Multiple general managers and head coaches striving to find the best players to pair with the four-time All-Star. The first few years of Booker’s career saw him loitering in the lottery with an island of misfits toys as teammates. However, found his groove in 2020 with the “Valley Boyz.”
The stable was led by Booker, Kelly Oubre Jr., DeAndre Ayon, Mikal Bridges, Cameron Johnson and more. The roster had no expectations as one of the last teams admitted into the NBA Bubble. The Valley Boyz didn’t let the noise deter them, and went 8-0 in Orlando and just fell short of the postseason. The Suns would trade for Chris Paul that offseason to fuel a historic 2020-2021 season.
Booker and Paul led Phoenix to its first Finals appearance in nearly 30 years and fell two game shorts of the franchise’s first NBA title. The fall from that moment has been grand and fail trades for Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal have led Booker to this moment and this new roster of up-and-coming players.
It would be impossible to replicated the magic of the Valley Boyz and the special two-year run the squad went on. However, this new entity could generate similar success and rise the team back in relevance by making a surprising playoff push heading into next season.
