Suns’ Bradley Beal Has Clear Free Agency Destination Following Buyout
Rick Scuteri-USA TODAY Sports

The Phoenix Suns entered the offseason expected to make some major changes to their roster and that is exactly what they have done thus far.

Of course, the Suns missed the playoffs last season after finishing 11th in the Western Conference with an abysmal 36-46 record.

Due to this, many believed that they would break up their big three and they did just that to kick off their offseason as they traded Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets for Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the draft rights to Khaman Maluach and five second-round picks.

Phoenix continued to make moves during the NBA draft as they acquired Mark Williams from the Charlotte Hornets and selected Rasheer Fleming and Koby Brea in the second round.

With Durant now in Houston, it is clear that Phoenix is trying to retool their roster around Devin Booker and they are likely not done making changes.

One player who is expected to be on the move out of Phoenix is star guard Bradley Beal, who is likely to be bought out of his contract after the Suns failed to find a trade suitor for him.

If that does end up being the case, one team has emerged as the clear frontrunner to sign Beal in free agency.

According to NBC Sports’ Kurt Helin, all signs point to the Los Angeles Clippers signing Bradley Beal this offseason if he reaches free agency.

“Los Angeles trading away Norman Powell — a sharpshooting, ball-handling wing, a role the Clippers need filled next to James Harden — is seen as a precursor to the Beal signing, league sources told NBC Sports,” Helin wrote.

Beal would be an interesting addition to the Clippers and one who could have an immediate impact in the backcourt next to Harden, though he has dealt with injury problems over the last handful of seasons.

Despite this, adding Beal on a cheap contract could help propel the Clippers into a potential title run next season with a new core of Kawhi Leonard, Harden, Beal, John Collins and Ivica Zubac, if they are all able to stay healthy.
