Suns' Chris Paul Reunion Continuing To Gain Steam After Recent Reports
Jerome-Miron-USA TODAY Sports

The Phoenix Suns had a pretty good run with Chris Paul as their point guard before deciding to trade him away in the package that netted them their current Bradley Beal nightmare. A reunion in the desert this offseason is not out of the question.

In fact, the two sides coming together on a free-agency deal is picking up some strong momentum. There are two recent NBA insider reports that offer a lot of optimism to those who would want to see Paul donning a Suns jersey once more.

A big focal point of Paul's next destination was find a place to play that was close to his family. This has been known since the point guard, himself, pointed it out on The Pat McAfee Show.

Paul has stuck to that desire and intention. The future Hall of Famer reportedly turned down two teams recently that did not align with those goals.

"Sources add that Paul, who started all 82 games last season for San Antonio, has rebuffed interest from Dallas and Charlotte thus far in free agency in a nod to the family plan. Milwaukee, sources say, has also made a run at Paul," Jake Fischer wrote.

Fischer highlighted a previous report from the outlet that pointed out Paul is down to the Suns and the Los Angeles Clippers as his two main choices. The NBA insider double down on that assessment.

"Rejoining either the Suns or the Clippers, sources say, does indeed still remain in play for Paul," Fischer added.

If the choices are between those two, the Suns may actually be the favorites. The Clippers offer a closer proximity to his family, but Phoenix can deliver another reported desirable for Paul.

Tim Reynolds recently revealed, "Chris Paul wants to be a starter, we're told, which is part of the reason why he evidently hasn't made up his mind yet. Clippers still very hopeful he picks them."

If the deal-breaker comes down to a starting spot, the Suns can certainly offer that. After losing Tyus Jones in free agency, that position remains as barren as ever in Phoenix, paving the way for Paul to come in and take the reins.
