Suns Dealt Concerning Kevin Durant News Amid Playoff Push

Time is running out for the Phoenix Suns to make a playoff push, and their journey to the play-in has only gotten more difficult.

With the team currently sitting at 35-40 on the year, they are one spot out of the final play-in sport. They have seven games left on the docket, with six of their final games against a team who is currently slated to make the play-in or playoffs.

On top of that, it was revealed on Monday that superstar forward Kevin Durant will miss a week with an ankle injury.

"Phoenix Suns All-Star Kevin Durant is expected to miss at least one week through team's three-game road trip with a left ankle sprain, sources tell ESPN," wrote Shams Charania. "Suns are 1.5 games out of Play-In with the toughest remaining schedule in the NBA."

The 15-time NBA All-Star appeared to roll his left ankle after he was driving to the basket and stepped on the foot of Houston Rockets forward Jabari Smith Jr.

On top of this injury possibly ending the Suns' playoff hopes, it also could prevent Durant from earning an All-NBA honor since he is currently three games short of the 65-game threshold. To make things even more complicated, there is a possibility that these are the final games that Durant plays with the Suns, as the consensus around the NBA is he will be moved this offseason.

Needless to say, Durant's tenure with the Suns was severely underwhelming when you consider just how high expectations were.
