The stars were out for Kyler Murray’s inaugural charity softball game. Athletes and Celebrities from all around the Valley made an appearance to support Murray and his cause, including Phoenix Suns guard Tyus Jones. The 29-year-old signed a one-year minimum deal with the franchise last offseason, touted as one of the best backup point guards in the NBA.

Jones’s first year in the Valley was up-and-down, averaging 10.2 points, 5.3 assists, and 2.4 rebounds. The Suns’ 36-46 record and constant drama didn’t help with the outlook of Jones and the rest of the roster’s season. Despite the shortcomings of last year’s team, Jones spoke with PHNX Sports’ Erik Ruby after the charity softball game, where he said “Nothing is off the table,” on a possible return to Phoenix.

Jones on re-signing with Suns:

Owner Mat Ishbia proclaimed at the end-of-season press conference that changes were coming for the franchise. On every aspect, from the front office to the end of the bench, the Suns were going in a different directions. However, would bringing back Jones be a smart move for the Suns moving forward?

Despite a down year from Jones, he is still one of the best affordable options for Phoenix this offseason. The Suns are still above the second apron, which makes signing significant bench options nearly impossible. Jones took a discount last year to join the team and could understandable seek out more money from another team this summer.

Jones decision will likely wait until general manage Brian Gregory decides what to do with the trio of All-Stars that are due to make over $150 million next season. Gregory will try and get under the 2nd apron, which will involve trade one or more of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal. Once the first domino of those trades fall, Jones decision on whether to stay or leave will become clear.
