The NBA offseason is officially underway and the Phoenix Suns have already made some major moves.
Phoenix started off their offseason by firing head coach Mike Budenholzer and replacing him with Jordan Ott.
They then traded superstar forward Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets on Sunday after weeks of trade talks.
In the trade, the Suns sent Durant to the Rockets for Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the No. 10 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft and five second-round picks.

With this trade, the Suns now have a logjam at shooting guard as they already had Devin Booker and Bradley Beal on their roster and they now add a young guard in Jalen Green.
Despite rumors that they would eventually move Green to another team due to his potential fit next to Booker, it was reported that the Suns will elect to keep Green as they will pair him and Booker alongside each other in the backcourt next season.
With this report coming out, the Suns now have some other decisions to make and a recent report suggests they already have a major plan in place involving Beal this offseason.
According to Suns insider John Gambadoro, Beal will either be traded or bought out by the Suns this summer.

This is not a surprising report as Phoenix tried to trade Beal at the trade deadline last season, though they were unable to do so due to his no-trade clause and lack of interest from other teams.
If they are once again unable to find a team to take on Beal this offseason, it appears that buying out his contract may be their only option, which would also be a costly one for them as they would eat the final two years of his contract where he is set to make more than $50 million per season.
While that would be the worst case scenario for the Suns, Beal may leave them no choice if he declines to waive his no-trade clause or if other teams are unwilling to trade for him due to his struggles over the last few seasons.
