The NBA Las Vegas Summer League officially began on Thursday night with the headliner being Cooper Flagg and the Dallas Mavericks taking on Bronny James and the Los Angeles Lakers.

While many teams other than the Mavericks and Lakers faced off on Thursday night, more teams are set to begin their Summer League on Friday night including the Phoenix Suns.

Of course, it has been a busy offseason for the Suns as they traded Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets and acquired Mark Williams from the Charlotte Hornets via trade.

Phoenix also selected three players in the 2025 NBA Draft in Khaman Maluach, Rasheer Fleming and Koby Brea, all of whom are expected to make their NBA debuts on Friday night against the Washington Wizards.

Ahead of his first Summer League game on Friday night, Maluach sent a message when he was asked if he was nervous for his NBA debut.

“I mean, not really. No, no nerves. I mean, it’s my first game. I’m excited to go out there and see what it looks like,” Maluach said ahead of his first Summer League game.

It is clear that Maluach is ready to begin his NBA journey on Friday night in his first Summer League game as he said he has no nerves heading into it.

Of course, Maluach was the 10th selection by the Suns in the 2025 draft after they acquired the pick from the Rockets as part of the Durant trade.

The 18-year-old center is coming off an impressive freshman season at Duke and he joined two of his teammates in Flagg and Kon Knueppel as lottery picks in the 2025 draft.

For the Suns, they have high expectations for Maluach, especially with their struggles at the center position last season and they hope that he can get off to a fast start on Friday night in his Summer League debut.

Fans can catch Friday’s Summer League matchup between the Wizards and Suns at 9:00 p.m. EST on ESPN.
