PHOENIX — Phoenix Suns forward Cody Martin’s injury status was upgraded to questionable ahead of Friday’s matchup against the Sacramento Kings for the first time since being traded to the Valley from Charlotte for Jusuf Nurkic on Feb. 6.
Martin, who has been dealing with a sports hernia and has been inactive since before the trade, had been progressing on his injury for weeks and was sent down to the G League Valley Suns while the parent team was on it’s latest road trip. Now questionable at home against the Kings on Friday, Martin provides Phoenix with much-needed depth amidst other injuries.
Nick Richards was also upgraded to questionable after missing Thursday’s 111-104 loss to the Houston Rockets with a right ankle sprain. Mason Plumlee was ejected in the loss after an altercation with Steven Adams, leaving Oso Ighodaro as the only remaining active center on the roster for the remainder of the game.
Grayson Allen, who also missed the Houston game, was downgraded to doubtful against the Kings with a left foot strain. Monte Morris is doubtful as well with a recurring lower back injury that has left him inactive for eight of the last 10 games.
