GLENDALE – The Phoenix Suns face off against the Denver Nuggets at Mortgage Matchup Center for the third and final time this season, as the playoff race heat up. Phoenix is 0-2 this season vs. Denver, but both matchups happened last calendar year. Since their last game in November, each team has had a rocky path to this point. The Nuggets defense has taken a real dip, while the Suns injury woes have plagued them.

The injury report shows that Phoenix is still struggling in that department, with six players on the list compared to just one Denver player.

Full Suns vs. Nuggets injury report:

The heavy injury report has the Nuggets heavy favorites by ESPNBet, with a -5.5 spread and -245 moneyline. The over and under is set at 233.5, which with Denver’s recent defensive outings has a real chance of going north of that number. Phoenix is coming off one of its best shooting game on Sunday vs. the Toronto Raptors, shooting 52% from the field and 45% from 3.

The significancy of Tuesday’s game comes to the Western Conference playoff standings. The Nuggets sit at the fifth seed, while the Suns are four games back sitting at the seventh seed. Phoenix seemingly stuck in the Play-In, three and a half games back of the Houston Rockets for the sixth seed.

To have its playoff spot locked, Phoenix will need a miracle in the final 10 games of the season, starting tonight. The franchise plays Denver and Houston at home during the final stretch of the season. The two rival teams have an easier strength of schedule to end the season, but the Suns still have a path to sneaking into a top six seed in the West.
