Well, things are happening quite fast. One minute, Cole Anthony was part of a blockbuster trade with Memphis Grizzlies. The next, he’s signing with the Milwaukee Bucks. Welcome to the NBA offseason.

Just a month ago, the former UNC guard landed in Memphis as part of the trade that sent Desmond Bane to Orlando. It seemed like a fresh start. But Memphis had other plans. As Shams Charania reported, the Grizzlies weren’t interested in keeping Anthony and leaned toward a buyout.

Now, that buyout is official. And Anthony isn’t wasting any time. He’s signing a one-year deal with the Milwaukee Bucks once he clears waivers.

For the Bucks, it’s a low-risk, high-upside move. Anthony, who turned 25 in May, brings something Milwaukee has been missing, on-ball creation and shot-making from the guard spot. In a roster full of elite talent but limited playmaking beyond the stars, Anthony could fill a real need.

This comes after five up-and-down seasons with the Orlando Magic, where he showed flashes but never found long-term footing in a crowded backcourt.

Now, with a fresh opportunity under head coach Doc Rivers, Anthony gets the shot to reset his career. He’ll play alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo and a contending core. If it clicks, this could be the breakout moment he’s been chasing.

Anthony has over $39 million in career earnings. Still, this isn’t about money. It’s about fit. It's about proving he belongs.

And for the Bucks? It’s about finding that missing spark. Maybe Cole Anthony is it.
