With the 2028 Summer Olympics rapidly approaching, the Team USA Men's Basketball program is busy working on finalizing its coaching staff.
According to NBA insider Shams Charania, Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault, Detroit Pistons head coach JB Bickerstaff and Gonzaga Bulldogs head coach Mark Few are joining the Team USA coaching staff as assistants under Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra.
Spoelstra was just named the head coach for Team USA through the 2028 Olympics, replacing Steve Kerr, who coached Team USA in the 2024 Olympics. With the hires announced Tuesday, Spoelstra has built an outstanding support staff of coaches around him.

Team USA's 2028 roster will look much different than its 2024 roster without LeBron James, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant. There will likely be returning members from the 2024 team in Anthony Edwards, Devin Booker and Tyrese Haliburton, but there will also be the addition of first-time players.
It would seem that Pistons point guard Cade Cunningham would commit to the team with his head coach being an assistant. Few coached Chet Holmgren at Gonzaga and Daigneault currently coaches him, and he is a name that has been heavily discussed as a member and potential "Wemby-stopper" in the Olympics.
The development of the roster will be an intriguing process to keep up with and with an excellent coaching staff assembled, Team USA should have a real chance at securing the gold medal for the second straight Olympics.
