The New Orleans Pelicans have been in Australia as part of the NBA preseason tour, and Jordan Poole seems to be enjoying it more than the rest of his teammates. The team won its two games against South East Melbourne (127-92) and Melbourne United (107-97).
In a recent interview, Poole discussed one of the highlights of his trip with the New Orleans Pelicans, giving a shoutout to Australia’s local wildlife.
“We went to go see some Kangaroos and Koalas bro. That’s all I cared about. “They put that excursion on there, and I was pretty much good after that,” Poole said.
In his first game wearing a New Orleans Pelicans jersey, Poole posted 11 points, four rebounds, and four assists versus Melbourne United.
Trey Murphy III was one of the standout players for the New Orleans Pelicans during their Australian tour, and Zion Williamson believes that his teammate is just getting started.
“He definitely made that jump last year in his game in terms of showcasing it, so no, I’m not worried at all. He put up 40, that’s for sure. No, I’m not worried about it at all. I support it,” Williamson said about Murphy via Damien Peters.
Last season, Murphy averaged 21.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.1 steals on 45.4 percent shooting from the field across 53 regular season appearances. However, his 2024-25 campaign was cut short due to a torn labrum.
