Tim Hardaway Jr. has played his entire life under the shadow of his Hall of Famer Tim Hardaway Sr., sharing both his name and number at times in his career. But after signing with the Miami Heat – the franchise that retired Hardaway Sr.’s No. 10 jersey in 2009 – Hardaway Jr. is going to have to pick a new number.
“Even though he loves to wear 10, that is not coming down from the rafters,” Sr. told WQAM radio in Miami.
“I love him to death. I’m happy for him…but no. He can’t wear No. 10.”
Hardaway Jr. signed a one-year, $6.5 million contract with the Heat to provide some much needed spacing for an offense that will feature both Bam Adebayo and Giannis Antetokounmpo, but lost shooter Tyler Herro. In 80 games with the Nuggets last season, Hardaway shot 40.7 percent from three-point range, knocking down more than 200 triples for the fifth time since 2019-20.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Hardaway Jr. became one of 59 players in NBA history to make at least 220 three-pointers in a single season. How many of those players can you name in eight minutes?
Good luck!
