The Cleveland Cavaliers had a 22-point lead with just 7:52 left in the fourth quarter of Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Then, Jalen Brunson happened.
He scored 13 points on his own in an 18-1 run over 4:22 and added two more points and two assists in overtime en route to the Knicks 115-104 victory. After the game, he shared the message he had for his team before the key run in the final frame of regulation.
"Keep chipping away," Brunson told his teammates.
"We're not gonna get it back in one possession. Most importantly, sticking together, no matter how that game finished, habits translate; they get transferred to the next game. So just finishing the game strong, regardless of whatever's going on. Making sure everyone has the right habits."
Even after getting back into the game, the Knicks still needed a little help from the basketball gods to force overtime. Landry Shamet’s three-pointer to tie the contest at 101 bounced all around the rim before dropping, while Sam Merrill’s attempted game-winner was halfway down before spitting back out just before the buzzer.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Brunson finished with 38 points, six assists, five rebounds and three steals to take Game 1 at Madison Square Garden. With that being said, how many of the players to score at least 35 points to go with at least five rebounds and five assists in a conference finals game can you name in six minutes?
Good luck!
