Game 7.
For neutral fans, these are the two most exciting words in professional sports. For fans of the teams involved, few words are as anxiety-inducing.
The first victims of that feeling in 2025-26 come from the NBA, with the Philadelphia 76ers forcing a decisive final game against the Boston Celtics with a 106-93 win on Thursday night. Tyrese Maxey led the way with 30 points on 11-of-22 shooting, while veteran Paul George added 24 of his own while knocking down five three-pointers in the home win. George also led a defensive effort that achieved the rare feat of holding both Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown under 20 points for the first time in the series.
“He’s been great, I’ve been saying it the whole series,” Philadelphia head coach Nick Nurse said of George – after the win.
“He’s been just excellent on defense, the entire game. [Brown and Tatum] are great wings and he has to battle them every possession. They’re scoring, but he’s making them really work for it, and he’s getting more confident every game at the offensive end.”
The winner of Saturday’s do-or-die clash will advance to play the New York Knicks, who are fresh off of a 51-point shellacking of the Atlanta Hawks.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. George – who gets to celebrate his 36th birthday playing in Game 7 – recorded his 10th-career playoff game with five three-pointers on at least 50 percent shooting from long-range in Game 6. With that being said, how many of the players with five such games can you name in seven minutes?
Good luck!
