The New York Knicks will welcome the Boston Celtics into Madison Square Garden on Thursday night hoping to take a stranglehold on the third-seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
The good news for New York is that four Celtics including Jaylen Brown, who is coming off of a 35-point, nine-rebound effort against the Charlotte Hornets, are considered questionable for the contest.
The bad news is that the one player certain to go is Jayson Tatum, who is playing his first game at MSG since tearing his achilles there in the playoffs last year. The 28 year old admitted it isn’t something he’s been looking forward to.
“I’m not thrilled to go back and play there. The last time I did, it was a traumatic experience. I knew at some point I’d have to get over that hurdle, so it’s going to be this Thursday,” Tatum said.
“I decided to come back and play, so I’m not skipping games.”
Since returning to the floor on March 6, Tatum has averaged 21.6 points, 9.8 rebounds and 5.1 assists in 32.1 minutes-per-game. The Celtics – who Brown was instrumental in keeping near the top of the East without Tatum – are now 13-2 in games that the third-overall pick in 2017 has played in this season.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Tatum has proven he can win as a one-man show by cementing himself as one of the exclusive members of the 60-point-game club. With that being said, can you name every NBA player to score 60 points in a single game?
Good luck!
