Welcome to the 2026-27 NBA season!

After an eventful offseason, the action returns to the court with the Boston Celtics taking on the Detroit Pistons in the first regular season game of the year. For the first time in his career, Jayson Tatum will embark on a season without Jaylen Brown after his trade to Philadelphia in exchange for Paul George.

Tatum missed the majority of the 2025-26 campaign recovering from an achilles tear he suffered in the 2025 postseason, but Boston was upset by the 76ers in the First Round of the Eastern Conference Playoffs for their earliest exit since 2020-21.

While Brown more than held down the fort for Boston and is undoubtedly a more productive player than George at this point in their careers, the Celtics are hoping to improve their cohesiveness by rolling with Tatum as their only “alpha.” That experiment begins with what should be a tough test against a Detroit team that finished with the best record in the East last season.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Entering his 10th NBA season, Tatum is one of 55 active NBA players with at least 10,000 points to his credit. How many of those players can you name in seven minutes?
