Today marks the return of the Air Jordan 4 “Fear.” In the summer of 2013, Nike released three different colorways in three models simultaneously, calling it the “Fear Pack.” The “Fear Pack” inspiration comes from a 2008 Air Jordan marketing campaign where Micheal Jordan states, “I’m scared of what I won’t become. You’re scared of what I could become.” The “Fear” is represented by a gray and orange pair of Air Jordan 3s, a black, gray, and white pair of Air Jordan 4s, and an olive green, black, and orange pair of Air Jordan 5s. These models represent the years that Jordan had yet to win a championship but established himself as a premiere NBA player, showing flashes of who he could become

The “Fear Pack” was a limited release, with the shoes released simultaneously but sold separately and in varying quantities. Chasing down all three pairs of this pack was not an easy feat. The Air Jordan 3, which was re-released last year, was the most accessible pair to find, and it was also released in grade school sizes. Air Jordan 4 proved to be more difficult to find than the threes. Though the 4s were also released in grade school, both size ranges were significantly more limited than the 3s. The Air Jordan 5 was the most elusive of the pack, only available in men's sizes at exclusive locations, notably Foot Locker's House of Hoops.

For those who missed out on the fear floors in 2013, this is their chance to make up for lost time. The Air Jordan 4 “Fear” is available on Nike.com and other notable retailers for $215 in men's and $160 in grade school. Hopefully, this signals a future return for the elusive Air Jordan 5 next year.
