The roster for the 2025-2026 Houston Rockets has taken shape over the last two weeks. ESPN insider Shams Charania reported earlier today the team intends to re-sign Jae’Sean Tate, Aaron Holiday, and Jeff Green for next season. These moves came on the heels of pulling off the blockbuster addition of Kevin Durant, extending Head Coach Ime Udoka, and bringing back Fred VanVleet and Steven Adams. Will all of these moves help the Houston Rockets succeed on the court?

The Houston Rockets have undergone a massive makeover this offseason. They did this on the heels of a shockingly good 2024-2025 season. They finished the regular season as the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference. They would go on to lose Game 7 at home to the Golden State Warriors in the first round. Houston’s main issue was a lack of scoring. That will change with Durant now in the fold.
Even though the all-time great is not the player he once was, he will provide the Houston Rockets with instant scoring. He will not be expected to lead the team or be a lockdown defender. His only job will be to score. That is something he was born to do.
Houston will enter next season with championship aspirations. Their moves over the last few weeks reinforced those beliefs. Durant will be expected to take a talented roster to the next level. The NBA world will watch with bated breath to see if he can bring a championship to “H-Town.”
