The Minnesota Timberwolves only have three games left in the 2024-25 regular season. They are at a crucial juncture of the campaign because they are still competing for an automatic spot in the Playoffs.
Minnesota does not want to go through the Play-In Tournament, as they need to win the remaining three games of the season. This includes the upcoming matchup on Thursday, a crucial game against the Memphis Grizzlies.
The Western Conference is involved in one of the most heated Playoff races. The fourth-seeded LA Clippers have the same record as the seventh-seeded Grizzlies. Minnesota is chasing all four teams, as they are just one game behind.
With this upcoming game between the Timberwolves and Grizzlies, coach Chris Finch's team wants to pull off an impressive win to their hats back into the ring for the automatic Playoff berth.

Who will finish where?
With only three games left in the regular season, the Timberwolves must win as much as possible. They blew a huge opportunity when they lost to the Milwaukee Bucks after establishing a 24-point lead.
That result was a ridiculous loss for Minnesota, but they do not have time to dwell on that anymore. The focus is now on Thursday's game against the Grizzlies, which will significantly influence the Playoff race.
DiVincenzo: "Before this game we won (five) in a row, played good basketball for three quarters. We have to acknowledge what happened, but don’t let the world blow up just because of this. We have to respond on Thursday."

Memphis sits in the seventh seed with a 47-32 record, just one game above Minnesota. If the Timberwolves win this game, they could level the playing field.
Since Memphis has the same record as the other three teams in the race, Minnesota can make up ground. The loss to Milwaukee was a big blow, but that is not stopping the Timberwolves from battling for a spot they think they deserve.
Even though the Grizzlies surprisingly fired now-former head coach Taylor Jenkins, Memphis has a talented roster. They are still headlined by the trio of Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Desmond Bane.
At the same time, they have the momentum with three straight wins on the bounce. That is hard to beat, especially since they won the two previous games this season against The Grizzlies.

However, Coach Finch and the Timberwolves are ready to prove the doubters wrong. They want to bounce back from the embarrassment against Milwaukee, and they will release their frustrations by playing against Memphis.
Look for Anthony Edwards, Rudy Gobert, and Julius Randle to have big games, considering they match up well against their Memphis counterparts. It will be an exciting game on Thursday at FedEx Forum, as the result has massive implications.
