Boston Mayor Michelle Wu may have given Jaylen Brown a key to the city on his way out of town for Philadelphia for his decade of service to the Celtics, but she better not expect the 2024 Finals MVP to take it easy on them when he returns to town.
Heading into his 11th professional season and first not as a Celtic following his trade to Philadelphia this offseason, Brown has had plenty to say on his livestream. Talking recently about his mindset this season, he kept it simple.
“My mentality is to kill,” he said.
“I want blood this year. That’s the mentality.”
Brown was an MVP candidate for Boston last season, keeping the Celtics near the top of the Eastern Conference standings despite Jason Tatum missing the majority of the season. Now, he gets a chance at a fresh start with a team that also acquired LeBron James in free agency and should be a favorite in the East if it stays healthy.
Brown averaged a career-highs in points (28.7), rebounds (6.9) and assists (5.1) in his role as alpha-dog for Boston last season, but with a rift developing between him and the organization, the Celtics decided to move him for Paul George and a slew of draft picks.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Despite the Sixers upsetting the Celtics in the First Round of the Eastern Conference Playoffs last season, Philadelphia is getting a proven postseason performer who already ranks eighth all-time in playoff three-pointers. With that being said, how many of the NBA players to make at least 100 postseason triples can you name in seven minutes?
Good luck!
