The 'NBA Rookies of the Year' quiz

Just a couple of years ago, Ja Morant was one of the most exciting players in the NBA and the face of the Memphis Grizzlies franchise. But after a tumultuous couple of years filled with injuries and suspensions that have kept Morant off the hardwood more than on it, both sides are getting a fresh start.

The Grizzlies are trading  Morant to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for Jerami Grant and Kris Murray, the final domino to fall since trading away Desmond Bane last offseason and Jaren Jackson Jr. at last season’s deadline.

After being named the 2020 Rookie of the Year, 2022 Most Improved Player and to two All-Star teams in his first four campaigns, Morant has played just 79 combined-games since the start of the 2023-24 season. But with Damian Lillard expected to return next year, the Blazers could form an intriguing back-court if both are able to stay healthy and Lillard’s veteran presence can rub off on Morant.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. The Grizzlies selected Morant with the second-overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft after his scintillating season at Murray State before he ran away from players like Zion Williamson, Coby White and then-teammate Brandon Clarke for Rookie of the Year honors. With that being said, can you name every NBA Rookie of the Year from the lottery era (since 1985)?

Good luck!
