The 'NBA scoring champions' quiz

Happy 66th birthday to nine-time NBA All-Star, seven-time All-NBA selection, 1985-86 scoring champion and 2006 Hall of Fame inductee, Dominique Wilkins!

Wilkins was selected third-overall by the Utah Jazz in the 1982 NBA Draft out of Georgia, and was traded to the Atlanta Hawks before the season began for John Drew and Freeman Williams. He became an immediate contributor, starting all 82 games of his rookie season and averaging 17.5 points and 5.8 rebounds-per-game for a 43-39 Hawks team that lost to the Celtics in the first round of the Eastern Conference Playoffs.

That would be the last season he scored below 20 points-per-game until he was 35 years old. He scored 30.3-per-contest in his scoring title season, but his career-high actually came two years later (30.7) when he finished second behind Michael Jordan.

Wilkins would eventually play 15 years in the NBA, retiring with 26,668 points, 7,169 rebounds and 2,677 assists.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. How many of the players to win the NBA scoring title since the 1976-77 season can you name in five minutes?

Good luck!
