What’s wrong with the Pacers?

More importantly, will they ever get the enthusiasm and fire from their fans back after this painful season?

The season started off bad for the Pacers and just got worse and worse.

After the first couple weeks of the season, the team had a record of 1-6.

They’ve lost to some of the best and worst teams in the league.

They were taken down by the Detroit Pistons in November, 97-89; they also got defeated by the New Orleans Pelicans 117-113, but nothing was worse than when they got taken down by a final of 125-96 to the red hot Miami Heat.

No matter how bad or how good, teams all across the NBA have found victories against the Pacers.

It’s really such a shame because, as mentioned, some of the Pacers’ stars are really quite great.

Sabonis, Turner, LeVert, and a few others are playing some wonderful basketball.

But it doesn’t matter because the team is ready to blow it all up and start over.

Reset Incoming

It’s no secret that the Pacers are looking to completely rework their roster and aim for some big trades in the months ahead.

In fact, the three names mentioned above – the Pacers’ star players – are all on the chopping block for Indiana.

It’s obvious that the future of the team will be without its current big stars.

The only problem is that the team is asking for a lot for each player and, so far, no other teams are willing to make the sort of big-name deals they want.

For example, it’s been reported that Indiana wants at least two first-round picks for LeVert.

That’s a very hefty asking price and one that isn’t finding any prospective buyers currently.

But it’s well known that the Pacers won’t stop trying to find new homes for their stars, even if that search goes way beyond the trade deadline and into the offseason.

That means that many Pacers’ fans have come to terms with the fact that the team is just riding the clock out for this year.

Behind the scenes, the front office is moving pieces around and already planning for next season.

When the first game tips off next year, the Pacers will probably be looking very different.

Until then, the team will just struggle along knowing that the clock is ticking away for all of them.
