The Philadelphia 76ers Are Looking Like a Championship Contender in Preseason

NBA preseason is here, and the Philadelphia 76ers, with new additions, look like a team that has already been playing together for years during preseason play. Videos have surfaced of the 76ers running pickup games to get continuity with one another.

The Boston Celtics traded Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Paul George, two first-round picks in 2028 and 2031, in addition to two second-round picks in 20228 and 2030, per ESPN. The 2028 first-rounder could convert from a first to a pick swap that is more favorable to the Celtics, while the 2031 pick is unprotected. This trade still feels like a steal for the Philadelphia 76ers.

Championship-caliber two-way players like Jaylen Brown are hard to come by. The balance Brown provides on the defensive end and the offensive end is second to none. Averaging 20 points for seven consecutive seasons and won Finals MVP winning a NBA record 18^th NBA championship in 2024 the most in the NBA.

Brown just enhances Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe’s game, taking pressure off the two in the frontcourt and becoming a valid scoring option. Brown also provides an elite defensive wing who can guard a team’s best offensive player and take him out of the game.
