The Spurs Are Setting Surprising New Lows
Alonzo Adams-USA TODAY Sports

Everyone expected the San Antonio Spurs to struggle in 2022-23.

Most people thought they’d sit towards the bottom of the Western Conference standings, even with some of the young talents they have on board.

But few people thought they’d be this bad.

The Spurs continue to impress with their awfulness, which seems to know no limits.

It’s crazy to consider but the Spurs have only won one game since the end of October.

We are now in December and the Spurs have literally only claimed one victory since Halloween.

But in the long run, more losses might be exactly what the Spurs need to claim future victories.

Spurs Still Struggling

The last time the Spurs won an NBA game was on November 11, when they took down the Milwaukee Bucks in a surprising 111-93 victory.

Before that, their previous triumph was on October 30 against the Timberwolves.

They have one of the greatest coaches of all time, Gregg Popovich, but the Spurs are still a complete mess and so far away from even tasting the playoffs.

But maybe this is all part of the plan?

It’s no surprise that teams are vying to get Victor Wembanyama in the upcoming NBA draft.

The teams with the worst records have the best chances in the draft and the easiest path to Wembanyama.

So, are the Spurs purposely throwing in the towel so they can land the promising NBA prospect?

Even if they were, they’d never say because they’d risk getting fined heavily by the NBA.

Will the Spurs turn things around and garner more wins in the weeks ahead?

It’s very possible but it’s also possible that they don’t win a single game until 2023.
