The Dallas Mavericks dropped to a 4-11 start after losing 120-96 to the Minnesota Timberwolves last night, and head coach Jason Kidd stated the obvious about the team’s recent struggles.

During the postgame presser, Kidd attributed yesterday’s loss to fatigue and their lack of depth, as the Dallas Mavericks were fresh from two straight overtime matches against the Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Clippers over the weekend.

“Fatigue. And they were aggressive, give them credit. They came out and pressured us, and we turned the ball over too many times against a talented team. We also didn’t play up to our standards on the defensive end,” Kidd explained via Mike Curtis of The Dallas Morning News.

“This is just part of the season. Our health is a big problem. We have guys out for one game, and then they’re in and on minute restrictions. There’s no continuity. There won’t be any continuity. We’re trying to piece this thing together & give those guys in that locker room credit. They’re fighting & it’s just what it is right now until we can get healthy,” he added.

Dallas Mavericks News: PJ Washington remains optimistic amid the team’s sluggish start

After last night, the Dallas Mavericks have lost four of their last five. However, despite being one of the cellar dwellers in the Western Conference, PJ Washington remains optimistic that they can turn their fortunes around.

“Just stick with it. Things will turn. It’s not gonna rain forever. For us, we gotta stick to our principles & build an identity. Don’t let each & every game get to us. Stick with our principles & things will change,” Washington stated.

In yesterday’s contest, Washington was one of Dallas’ bright spots, notching 13 points and seven rebounds on 5-for-12 shooting from the field in 25 minutes of action.
