'This Man Is Believing It': Kevin Durant Mocks Astrologer Explaining Suns Locker Room Rift

Kevin Durant has built a reputation as one of the most focused and no-nonsense stars in the NBA—he’s never been one to leave things up to superstition or any sort of pre-game voodoo. So it’s no surprise he had a good laugh when someone tried to dissect the Phoenix Suns’ locker room dynamics using astrology.

On Thursday, a podcast clip posted by the X account PHNX Suns (not officially affiliated with the team) featured a so-called “astrology expert” giving a cosmic take on the Suns’ recent underperformance.

“Kevin Durant is a Libra, air sign. He has high influence,” the guest explained. “He’s not gonna be on the bench… his influence is so heavy that it could affect the team that was there previously.”

The astrologer also claimed that the team chemistry was stronger back when Chris Paul was still around—apparently due to better zodiac compatibility with players like Devin Booker.

Durant didn’t hold back his reaction. Trying to keep it together, he fired off a tweet clapping back at the wild theory:

“We got an astrologer tellin this man about our locker room and even crazier, this man is believing it. What a clown,” he wrote.

While there’s clearly no scientific merit to the claims, the timing of the speculation is interesting, especially as rumors swirl about Durant possibly moving on from Phoenix. His future with the Suns remains a big question mark heading into the offseason.

As the NBA offseason heats up, Kevin Durant added more fuel to the rumor mill following the NBA Draft Lottery on Monday.

In a post that sent fans and media into speculation mode, Durant tweeted:

“Tanking must be really stressful on an organization.”

He didn’t name-drop, but fans quickly connected the dots. The Utah Jazz and Washington Wizards, both considered frontrunners in the lottery sweepstakes, ended up with the fifth and sixth picks, far from what their fan bases were hoping for.

With Durant’s own future still up in the air, the tweet felt like more than just casual commentary. Whether he’s just stirring the pot or subtly signaling his next move, only time will tell.

One thing’s for sure: KD still knows how to keep the timeline talking.
