Jeff Weltman believes that the current Orlando Magic roster could be the most promising group he’s had during his eight-year stay with the franchise thus far.

The Orlando Magic have been one of the most productive teams this offseason, as they’ve acquired Desmond Bane and Tyus Jones while re-signing Paolo Banchero and Moe Wagner to new contracts.

“For me personally since I’ve been here, I think this roster has a chance to do some special things, more so than any other that we’ve had since I’ve been here,” Weltman stated via Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel.

“It looks good on paper…The nice thing about the team that I get excited about is it’s still very young and there’s still a lot of growth baked in,” he continued. “I look forward to the next few years unfolding, but obviously starting right now.”

Orlando Magic News: Jeff Weltman is “thankful” to bring back key rotation player

Orlando Magic president of basketball operations Jeff Weltman is grateful to have Moe Wagner back after the front office declined the German international’s $11 million team option.

Wagner, who tore his ACL last December, could’ve joined another team. But he decided to run it back with Orlando, even if it meant losing a significant amount of money.

“I’m just thankful that Moe chose us. You know, Moe has a lot of options. He’s an important part of our team, and the fact that he, you know, reinvested in us, is really gratifying to us. We can’t wait to continue Moe’s journey in a Magic uniform,” Weltman said via SI’s Don Strouble.
