This team is emerging as a front-runner for a Siakam trade?

Spicy P may just end up with a team whose name starts with a P.

Veteran NBA reporter Marc Stein indicated this week on his Substack page that one front-runner may be emerging for Toronto Raptors' probable trade candidate Pascal Siakam.

Stein writes that no team has been consistently mentioned in league circles as a potential Siakam suitor more than the Indiana Pacers.

The 29-year-old multi-time All-Star Siakam, who is in the final year of his contract with Toronto, is widely expected to be dealt before the Feb. 8 deadline, especially after the Raptors just pulled the trigger on an OG Anunoby trade.

Toronto president Masai Ujiri has also been dropping apparent hints that the Siakam era may soon be over.

At 23-16 this season and coming off an in-season tournament final appearance, the Pacers have eyes on contending right now. Arguably their biggest hole is Siakam’s power forward position (where Jalen Smith and Obi Toppin rotate minutes).

Indiana also has some interesting assets to dangle to Toronto, including a guy they have been trying to trade for a while now.
