NBA free agent center Thomas Bryant is nearing a deal with Greek powerhouse Panathinaikos, according to Kevin Martorano of Sportando.
Bryant, 27, was traded from the Heat to the Pacers midway through the season following injuries to Indiana big men Isaiah Jackson and James Wiseman. In 56 regular-season games with the Pacers, the 6-foot-10 Indiana University product averaged 6.9 points and 3.9 rebounds in 11.9 minutes per game.
He appeared in 20 postseason games during Indiana’s run to the NBA Finals but played a limited role, averaging 2.6 points and 1.4 rebounds in 8.4 minutes. His shooting splits during the playoffs were .485 from the field, .500 from three, and .786 at the line.
Bryant has played for five NBA teams over eight seasons, including the Lakers, Wizards, Nuggets, Heat and Pacers. He won a title with Denver in 2023.
Panathinaikos has been in the market for an experienced NBA center this offseason and previously had discussions with Jonas Valanciunas before the Nuggets opted to retain him. The Greek club recently won the EuroLeague title and is aiming to reload its frontcourt.
A deal with Bryant is expected soon, per the report.
