Three stats that should give Warriors fans hope heading into postseason

It's been an odd season for the defending champs. The Warriors (41-38) are in sixth place in the Western Conference, and with just three games remaining in the season, Golden State could even fall into the play-in. However, the Warriors -- winners of four championships in the past decade -- can still make a run in the weak West.

Here are three stats that should instill some faith into Warriors fans.

1. Statistically, Golden State has (by far) the best starting five in the NBA

If Andrew Wiggins makes a seamless return, the Warriors should absolutely be considered a contender to make it out of the Western Conference.

Per Adrian Wojnarowski, "Wiggins is nearing a return to the team and is expected to be back early this week."

Golden States' starting five of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Wiggins, Draymond Green and Kevon Looney is the best starting lineup in the NBA. In 27 games together, this group has an offensive rating of 128.0 (#1), a defensive rating of 106.1 (#1) and a net rating of 21.9 (#1). Statistically, it isn't all that close. Second in net rating is the Denver Nuggets (52-26) at 14.3.

In the playoffs, rotations shrink and minutes significantly increase for starting fives. That's something that should benefit Golden State no matter the opponent.

2. Steve Kerr has won at least one road game in every playoff series he's coached

Despite all of Kerr's questionable lineups and decision-making in the regular season, there is no denying he's one of the best playoff coaches in the NBA. Per StatMuse, Kerr has a playoff coaching record of 93-34 (73%). He always seems to get the best out of the roster when it matters most.

This season, Golden State has the fourth-worst road record (9-30) in the league, and while that is worrisome, history will tell you that it's something it can overcome. Kerr has won at least one road game in every playoff series as head coach of the Warriors. As a franchise, Golden State has had a road win in 27 consecutive playoff series dating back to the 2013 first-round against the Denver Nuggets with Mark Jackson at the helm.

3. Warriors' big three hasn't lost a playoff series in the West since 2014

Golden States' big three -- Curry, Thompson, Green -- hasn't lost a playoff series in the West since losing in the first round to the Los Angeles Clippers in 2014. Since then, the Warriors have been 18-0 in Western Conference playoff series. 18-0.

There isn't a juggernaut in the West this season. The Nuggets are defensively flawed. Memphis' half-court offense is still highly questionable. Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns will have 10 games together before the playoffs.

It's a real possibility Golden State can keep this streak and their dynasty going.
